Happy New Year!
At Canvas and Paddle, we’re setting the goal to be outside more, drink more water and get that Vitamin D sunshine as much as possible, which can be hard in Northern Michigan!
We thought we’d share some ways that we plan to get outside this month:
Walking the local trails.
Snowshoeing at a nearby State Park (find a list for a state park close to you here: https://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,4570,7-350-79133_79205---,00.html)
Go sledding with the family at a local hill or just in your backyard!
Head to the ski slopes for some downhill skiing or cross country skiing.
Fat tire biking.
Eat out in a winter igloo! While it’s definitely chilly out, there are so many restaurants that are making it possible to enjoy eating out in their winter igloos! In the Petoskey area, a few restaurants that have winter igloos include: Petoskey Brewing, Boyne Valley Vineyards, Palette Bistro and Stiggs Brewery!
We love all the ways to bundle up and get outside this winter! Some of our favorite trails in Northern Michigan to go to are located at the Petoskey State Park! Wherever you live, look for ways to get outside and explore what ways you can get outside this winter season. Hopefully, before you know it we’ll be back together in the sunshine on Mackinac!
